Program Description
The Environmental Studies Minor allows students to develop a deeper understanding of current environmental issues and sustainability from a variety of disciplinary perspectives such as science, ethics, policy, literature, business, and other fields of study. This cross-disciplinary study enables students to explore how environmental issues relate to their own majors and complementary fields, thereby helping to prepare them for a range of career and graduate study options. The minor is open to all majors. Students should consult with their major faculty advisor to ensure the minor is appropriate for their career goals. It is recommended that students begin planning for the minor early in their academic career (freshman or sophomore year) in order to maximize courses that satisfy Liberal Core requirements. The Environmental Studies Minor requires completion of two 3-credit required courses and nine credits of elective courses.
