Objective
Students will become familiar with basic altitude instrument flying and learn about the operation of various airplane instruments, aerodynamic factors related to instrument flying, and various navigation systems. Students will become familiar with pertinent federal regulations for IFR flight operations.

Objective
Students will develop knowledge of ATC clearances, holding procedures, instrument approaches and charts. Students will learn about airport marketings and signs, airspace, and arrival and departure procedures and charts. Aeromedical factors, aeronautical decision making, and crew resource management are assessed.

Objective
During this stage, the student will gain additional proficiency in IFR cross-country operations and flights. Students will learn about weather theory and how to use this information to forecast weather trends. IFR en route operations and IFR en route chart interpretation is assessed.

Objective
This will be an end-of-course flight check that incorporates all prior Stages objectives and a comprehensive review of IFR flights. The end of course assessment will determine the pilots readiness to take the FAA instrument rating (airplane) knowledge test.
