Global Student Requirements
Global students are encouraged to apply as early as in order to allow plenty of time for an admission decision and to apply for a student visa. Gannon recommends applying at the very latest by June 1st for the following fall start (August) and November 1st for the following spring start (January) to ensure adequate time for processing.
To apply, global students need to submit the following:
International Admission Application.
Transcripts and final exam results in official, notarized (attested) English translation:
Undergraduate: all secondary and post-secondary schools showing degrees and diplomas conferred.
Graduate: all undergraduate and graduate level transcripts showing degrees conferred.
Letter of recommendation(s)
Undergraduate: one letter of recommendation – optional for most programs, but recommended for all;
Graduate: three letters of recommendation – required unless waived by program director.
Affidavit of Support Form along with a bank statement showing appropriate funds in U.S. dollars. Gannon University is required by United States immigration law to verify financial resources available for a student’s educational and related expenses.
Additional document(s)
Undergraduate: personal statement – optional, but recommended;
Graduate: statement of purpose, curriculum vitae/resume, and standardized tests, if applicable.
Evidence of English Language Proficiency*
Native of an English-speaking country;
Completion of a four-year degree from an accredited university within the past year in an English-speaking country;
At least 1 year studying in a high school in an English-speaking country
TOEFL iBT 79;
IELTS 6.0 (6.5 for some programs);
Duolingo 110;
PTE 53;
Completion of Gannon University’s English Language Program – Advanced 2. *

Policy on ESL Testing and Potential Placement
Students who do not meet the English language proficiency requirements as defined above must take the ESL placement test upon arrival to campus. Depending on the results of the test, students will be placed in one of the ESL levels or will prove English proficiency and go directly into academic classes.
Non-refundable Enrollment Deposit
Global students are required to pay a non-refundable enrollment deposit after receiving a U.S. student visa in order to secure their seat at the university and be allowed to enroll. Enrollment deposits go entirely towards the student’s tuition and fees. The deposit cannot be refunded should the student decide not to attend Gannon University after getting the visa and paying the deposit.
Mandatory On-Campus Residency/Meal Plan
All incoming first and second-year students under the age of 21 at the start of the Fall semester (August) of their first year are required to live on campus and enroll in one of the meal plans offered for their first four consecutive semesters of study (excluding summer term).
